1. Sony Xperia XZ Premium
Sony might not be the first name you think of when it comes to phones, because the company produces some pretty impressive hardware. The Sony XZ premium is one of the best phones which has stacks of amazing features, unique and fresh design with (807 PPI) density. With its incredible 807 PPI density, the Sony XZ Premium undoubtedly stands out as one of the best phones in terms of visual excellence. This remarkable device takes smartphone displays to a whole new level, delivering stunning clarity and sharpness that will leave you mesmerized.
If we talk about practical stuff, this phone has 64 gigabytes of built-in storage with a micro SD card for expanding that capacity by another 256 gigabytes. Sony XZ Premium also has 4 gigs of RAM which helps the phone speed through any day-to-day tasks. This phone also has a state-of-the-art processor for games; it’s not as powerful as high-end flagship devices available in the market; it’s enough for games like PUBG and Call of Duty.
The camera as you would hope is excellent – 19 megapixels along with Sony’s famous low-light performance. This makes it a great camera for almost every situation you can shoot video at up to 4k resolutions. There’s an insane slow-motion mode that enables you to shoot sequences at 960 frames a second you can only capture a short sequence but it does look amazing.
As I have already mentioned, the Sony XZ Premium has one of the highest resolutions of any phone at (807 PPI) 3840×2160, which is proper 4k. It also supports HDR and the colors look amazing on this phone, and there are enormous amounts of contrast available in video from companies like Netflix, Amazon, and others.
2. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of (806 PPI) 3840×2160. The display of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the second-highest display yet, but is other practical stuff in Z5 enough to take on the other smartphones on the market? Let’s find out.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is definitely a good-looking smartphone. It does look similar to Sony’s other Z series smartphones of the past, but with a focus on each and every detail, resulting in a solid, simple, and beautiful design. In terms of specs, this phone has the Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 GPU,3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. With these specs, the phone performs fairly well in daily use, but I have noticed a bit of lag when navigating around the user interface when opening and closing apps. My last use of this phone was over a year ago, so I hope by now the issue should have been resolved by newer versions of the software.
The Xperia Z5 Premium also has a 3430 mAh battery. With this battery, Sony claims you’ll be able to get around 2 days, and that’s fairly true, especially with the many power-saving modes that Sony includes, battery life is definitely NOT an issue. Sony has always been well-known for its cameras, and the Xperia Z5 Premium camera is pretty good. And, being able to use the shutter button, makes the camera experience even better. It’s 23 megapixels and is rated the best smartphone camera by DxOMark being the absolute best smartphone camera. The video isn’t bad either, especially with quick focusing.
In my opinion, practical stuff Z5 Premium is a solid device that can keep up with the competition in many ways, but there’s something just a bit lacking about it. It’s not a bad phone by any means, but it just doesn’t stand out from the wide variety of other fantastic and more-affordable Android phones. But if you’re looking for a beautiful and water-resistant smartphone, that has an excellent highest display resolution, solid camera experience, and great battery life, then the Xperia Z5 premium is an excellent choice.
3. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium
The Xperia XZ2 Premium is certainly not as powerful as the new flagship devices but still, in a world of fold and premium flagship smartphones, the XZ2 is different enough to stand out from the crowd. Now the reason why I said XZ2 is different, is its gorgeous 5.8 inches IPS display, with (765 PPI) 3840 x 2160 px. Additionally, its TRILUMINOS Display is simply stunning when kicking back with some Netflix, YouTube, or whatever. There’s also an IP68 dust and water resistance just in case you get caught in bad weather. The XZ Premium does come with the fingerprint reader on the right but not on the US model.
Inside we have a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6 Gigs of RAM, and 64 Gigs of expendable storage in Benchmark tests it performs great with daily use. The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a 3540 mAh battery with Qnovo adaptive charging technology which should extend the battery’s Lifespan. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium comes with Sony’s latest camera innovation, a 19-megapixel sensor with a larger and faster memory buffer. It’s actually the same camera we get in XZs. A neat feature is predictive capture it detects moving objects in the Viewfinder and automatically takes four photos before you click the shutter. I’m quite happy with the image quality that the camera is able to produce, sure at 100% zoom you’ll notice a sharpening. But if you’re not the pixel-peeping kind of user you’ll be really pleased with the results you get from XZ2’s camera.
The camera can also record regular 4K videos just as you’d expect. The videos have plenty of detail great contrasts and accurate colors the XZ2 Premium runs fast. Overall the build quality is great, there’s dust and water resistance and the camera has some cool features. So is the XZ2 Premium Sony good for you? Well, it really depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you prioritize a stunning display, a capable camera, and water resistance, and are willing to forgo the latest high-end specifications, it could be a suitable choice. However, if you require absolute top-tier performance and the latest features, you may want to consider newer flagship devices.
4. Sony Xperia 1 IV 5G
Sony Xperia 1 Mark IV 5G is my personal favorite phone, which has (643 PPI) 120 hertz 4K HDR OLED display with the best camera ever. The Xperia 1 Mark IV seems to be extremely identical to the Xperia 1 Mark iii with the same screen and body design. The front glass has been upgraded to Gorilla Glass Victus 2, to protect the glorious 4K display. The metal frame has a beautiful grooved pattern and the back glass has really unique texture to help with grip and to eradicate fingerprints. And it’s just so satisfying to hold.
The Xperia 1 IV is Camera Beast If you are interested in reading about camera you can check the Sony Xperia 1 IV camera Review here. Xperia 1 IV isn’t just an absolute camera beast but also Sony has brought their fantastic Game enhancer to the Xperia 1 V, enabling you to customize your gaming experience to give you an edge over the competition, prolong your battery life, and battery health whilst gaming and even connect you to a new or existing audience by live streaming your gaming directly to YouTube. All of these improvements are bolstered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the Xperia 1 IV has also improved power management and consumption over its predecessor to deliver insane performance in any situation.

5. Sony Xperia Pro-I
Sony’s most recent flagship device, the Xperia Pro-I, features a stunning 6.5-inch OLED display. This device provides an unmatched visual experience with a stunning (643 PPI) pixel density and beautiful 4K resolution. Additionally, its quick 120Hz refresh rate makes sure that screen transitions are fluid and seamless, further boosting user satisfaction.
In terms of practical stuff, there is 12 gigs of ram and 512 gigs of storage and it’s expandable. On top of that the chipset of the Xperia Pro-I is the high-end snapdragon 888 which you’ll find in the top flagships. Xperia Pro-I has a 4500 milliamp-hour battery I was able to score an endurance rating of 87 hours in our proprietary tests. But nothing too exciting for charging the phone comes with a 30-watt adapter in the box with it. I was able to charge from zero to 53 percent in 30 minutes.
The Xperia Pro-I is all about the camera because it features a full 1-inch sensor. A bigger sensor allows for more light, bigger resolution, higher image quality, and better performance. The sensor used in Xperia Pro-I is the same sensor found inside the RX100 Mark VII camera. In addition, the lens is a f2/f4 24mm Zeiss Tessar. Basically, Xperia Pro-I has an incredible main sensor that also integrates 315 points of phase detection auto-focus, eye detection, and many more professional things only high-end cameras include.
This phone is more than capable of shooting videos in 4K at 120 frames per second. Actually, it can record in 4K not only at 120FPS, but at 24, 25, 30, 60 too, basically all the popular frame rates. There’s so much more to say about its camera setup and filming capabilities, but we simply cannot explain it in this particular post since it is not an Xperia Pro-1 review.
Xperia Pro-I is not your everyday phone. It’s not for everyone, but it s rather aimed for vloggers or professionals looking to complete their filming or photography kit with an equally powerful phone. Equally potent and equally expensive. Because, holy crap, this phone costs 998 dollars!
6. Sony Xperia 1 V
The Xperia 1 Mark V is Sony’s top Flagship and they’ve again used the same squared-off tall and narrow design that we’ve seen in Xperia 1 IV. There are a couple of updates to the design though there’s a sturdier Gorilla Glass victus 2 on both the front and the back and there is a texture to both the back and the frame this time around for extra grip. A 6.5-inch OLED display with an exceptional 4K resolution is the focal point of the Sony Xperia 1 V’s beautifully constructed design. This extraordinary screen features a stunningly tall and narrow 21×9 aspect ratio that is ideal to improve your watching experience. Every feature and nuance is brilliantly brought to life with unmatched clarity and accuracy thanks to the amazing pixel density of (643 PPI).
Sony Xperia 1 V has a 5 000 million power battery, but battery life is better this time because of the new chipset. It’s the latest Flagship grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is more power efficient than the Snapdragon Gen1. As for storage, the phone offers two options: 256GB of internal storage with 12GB of RAM, or a higher variant with 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the Xperia 1 V supports expandable storage through microSDXC, which can be inserted into the shared SIM slot.
Similar to the Xperia 1 IV, the Xperia 1 V has a powerful camera. The Xperia 1 Mark 5 has a new 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto that offers step-less Zoom between 85 and 125 millimeters, and a 12-megapixel Ultrawide camera. The main camera utilizes a large CMOS sensor with a stacked design, resulting in improved low-light performance and reduced noise. Sony has also introduced new computational processing for nighttime shooting and added a night view mode. The camera apps have been updated, with vertical UI display, focus peaking, and multiple highlight color options.

8. Sony Xperia 1 II
The Xperia 1 Mark II has received a lot of positive press since it was announced. After using it for some time it definitely lives up to the hype for me. The display on the phone is the most experimental tech, as with all previous phones. It comes with a 4K resolution and (643 PPI). The 1 II also has a normal refresh rate of 60Hz rather than a high one like some other recent flagships, though Sony has implemented some software to make it feel more like 90Hz.
The specs are important to mention because it offers nearly everything. The latest Snapdragon 865 and 8GB of RAM. The phone also has 512GB of internal storage and Micro SD card support. The battery is a big upgrade over the Xperia 1 at 4000mAh. Unlike the international version, the US version I’m talking about does not have 5G, but it is compatible with most networks. The 1 II also is water resistant and has wireless charging, a side fingerprint scanner, front-facing stereo speakers, and USB Type-C. And believe it or not, specs are definitely not everything. The camera is another thing you may like to know about.

With four rear cameras, including a wide-angle lens and the ability to capture 4K videos at 60fps, it offers a versatile and high-quality imaging experience. While the phone’s photo capabilities are commendable, it is in video recording where the Xperia 1 II truly shines, delivering smooth footage with excellent autofocus and accurate audio quality. The front camera, although limited in options, still produces solid results. Overall, Sony has made significant strides in its camera software, resulting in improved performance and satisfying output.
9. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (128GB)
The Samsung galaxy s6 edge is arguably Samsung’s most gorgeous device yet with a strong Gorilla Glass front and back a metal frame and dual curved glass edges. Now This device is 8 years older but still provides you the best performance like a new flagship device. The device also has a beautiful 5.1-inch super AMOLED 2k display with (577 PPI). The s6 edge specs Don’t match with Galaxy S23 and S22 by any means, but it has a higher resolution than the Samsung galaxy s23 and 22. It is so crazy to think about this panel i mean Samsung always made really good panels and even looking at this panel nowadays it looks great. Anyway, let’s discuss some specs for those who don’t know about S6 Edge.
In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has 3GB RAM and 128GB Storage with Exynos 7420 Octa-core chipset to boost its speed. 2600 mAh, battery is not too good but it will be fine for normal use. The thing i did not like about this phone is that this phone isn’t gonna receive any new updates. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was started off with an Android lollipop it did go up to Android 7.0 and that’s it.
In terms of the camera, I’m actually surprised with Galaxy S6 Edge how good Camera it has, especially compared to today’s flagship models. I think it’s definitely a pretty decent camera for sure for its age. But not only the camera is the reason for recommending this phone. There are still many unique features you will like in this phone. So if you are a Samsung lover with the highest PPI then this is the phone you were looking for.
10. Samsung Galaxy S9
At this time in 2023, the Galaxy S9 had a pretty good feeling body like a premium smartphone. It has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with (568 PPI). The Galaxy S9 also featured a sleek glass back design, giving it a luxurious and sophisticated appearance. The 5.8-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display is the center of attraction of the Galaxy S9. You get deep black levels with a high contrast ratio. The high pixel density of 568 PPI ensured sharpness and clarity in every detail, immersing users in an exceptional viewing experience.
The S9 also runs on the Exynos 9810 processor with 4GB ram and 256Gb storage. But sometimes the phone will slow down or stutter a bit. Using the phone as a daily driver, I often found around 25 percent RAM left free, which is never a good thing when the going gets tough. The real-world performance of the phone, however, was quite flawless. Apps open soon as you tap on them and switching between two memory-intensive apps doesn’t take much time. There are also no lags in performing basic operations while gaming will be more or less without a hitch. The S9 retains the 3000mAh battery which performs very well.
The camera, Galaxy S9 rocks a 12MP 26mm camera with dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization, and single LED flash. What’s interesting is that the camera can switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 depending on the amount of ambient light. The same 8MP selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture has been carried over from the S8 to S9. Selfies come out well-detailed with just the right amount of exposure with the option of applying filters and beauty effects.
While the Galaxy S9 was indeed a high-quality phone for its time, it’s worth noting that smartphone technology has advanced since its release. But If you’re specifically looking for a phone with a high PPI and don’t care about high specs then this phone will be perfect for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q. What is the importance of PPI in smartphones?
A. PPI (pixels per inch) is an important factor to consider when it comes to smartphone displays because it affects the level of detail and sharpness that can be seen on the screen. The higher the PPI, the denser the pixels are packed together, resulting in a sharper and more detailed image. This is especially important for smartphones with larger displays or higher resolutions, as a lower PPI on a large display can result in blurry or pixelated images.
In addition to affecting image quality, PPI can also impact other aspects of smartphone performance, such as battery life and processing power. Higher PPI displays require more processing power to render images, which can drain the battery more quickly. As a result, smartphone manufacturers must strike a balance between display quality and battery life when choosing the PPI of a device.
Q. Does higher PPI drain the battery?
A. Yes, higher PPI (pixels per inch) can potentially drain battery life on devices such as smartphones and tablets. This is because higher PPI displays require more processing power to render images, which can consume more energy and cause the battery to drain faster.
However, it’s worth noting that other factors such as display brightness, network connectivity, and app usage also contribute to overall battery usage. In some cases, devices with high PPI displays may have better battery life than those with lower PPI displays if they are optimized for power efficiency in other areas.
Additionally, many smartphone manufacturers incorporate power-saving features into their devices, such as adaptive brightness and automatic power-saving modes, which can help reduce battery drain associated with high PPI displays. Ultimately, the impact of PPI on battery life depends on the device and how well it is optimized for power efficiency.
Q. How many PPI can the human eye see?
A. The human eye’s ability to perceive details on a screen depends on several factors, including the distance between the viewer and the screen, the size of the screen, and the resolution of the display.
It is generally believed that the average human eye can distinguish between individual pixels at a distance of about 300 pixels per inch (PPI) on a smartphone or tablet screen held at a normal viewing distance of approximately 12 inches. However, some people with exceptional eyesight may be able to perceive individual pixels at higher PPIs, while others may not notice a significant difference in image quality beyond a certain point.
It’s worth noting that PPI is just one factor that affects image quality on a screen, and other factors such as color accuracy, contrast, and brightness also play a role in how sharp and detailed images appear.
